The series of lectures and webinars on the application of AI to design research treats artificial intelligence as an instrument for extended inquiry, enabling us to enter new dimensions for design and research practice.

The series puts an emphasis on the intentional use of AI against the dominant framing, in which AI in design means renderings, form-finding, and the automation of creative output. Instead, machine intelligence is used to enhance the creative process rather than replacing it. And there is even more: used as a tool to sharpen our own perspective and to deepen how we navigate according to our own intentions, AI can revise the way we see. In this register AI is not just an advanced tool for production but an instrument for cosmotechnics, redefining how a technology reorganises our relation to the world. Used well, it does not replace the architect as a designer — it extends the field in which design is exercised.

The series moves between the conceptual and the practical. It situates AI within the longer lineage of spatial and design research, and it builds working fluency with the methods — data-driven spatial analysis, generative and exploratory workflows, AI-assisted fieldwork and synthesis — through which that research is now conducted. It is offered in flexible formats: single lectures, webinar series, and longer hands-on courses, so that each can be taken on its own or assembled into a fuller path. For architects, designers, and researchers who want AI to sharpen the questions they ask of space, not just accelerate the things they make.
